Because we don’t all feel the same thing at the same time or in the same way, Mehdi Kerkouche creates a powerful opportunity for performers and audience to connect through dance. A multi-discipinary artist fascinated by the stage and musicals, Kerkouche, who is currently the director of the Centre Chorégraphique National de Créteil et du Val-de-Marne | EMKA, loves bringing people together and creating communities. By shifting performance spaces and rearranging circulations, he suggests a new version of life in a group. Cultural, linguistic and social barriers no longer have a reason to exist in this communion of bodies designed as a collective journey. In this new piece, a social experience takes shape: more than a performance or a party, the show gives rise to an authentic dialogue and adds another dimension to the kind of “social dancing” that takes place during joyful celebrations and which brings us together.

Créteil
With eight dancers, a 360-degree set and organic electronic music by Lucie Antunes, Mehdi Kerkouche’s new show saves our souls by immersing us in dance. An open-air experience in the heart of La Vieille Charité, itself a source of inspiration for the artist.
