Aka Moon has been reinventing jazz for more than twenty years, highlighting its ethnic, funk or rock influences. Its philosophy of blending in various styles gave birth to two new bands, Aka Balkan Moon, inspired from the Balkan traditions, using the violinist Tcha Limberger’s electric energy as well as from its Bulgarian musicians, and AlefBa, definitely inspired by the sensual tones of the Middle East, with singers from Syria, Egypt and Lebanon. These “universal souls” have met for a concert journeying between the Eastern and the Western world. These “universal souls” are now joined in their voyage by the sumptuous Calbutta-born soufi singer Zita Kahn.
