Après moi, le déluge

icône Facile à lire et à comprendre (FALC)

Ballet national de Marseille, Direction (LA)HORDE

Marseille

The third creation by (LA)HORDE with the dancers of the Ballet national de Marseille examines our relationship to care, perception, legacy and transformation—set against an uncertain present and future shaped by crisis and disillusionment. Scenes unfold like rituals: bodies collide, carry one another, distort and support each other, before the inevitable fall. The result is a work as powerful as it is spectacular.

This is a journey from which the audience does not emerge unscathed. At times held in a troubling stillness, filmed in near immobility, then deftly drawn into the shifting labyrinth of an ever-changing, outsize set, the spectator is captivated by a succession of striking tableaux in which meaning and form become inseparable. With the insight of science-fiction writer Alain Damasio, Après moi, le déluge resonates with the anxiety and turbulence of our times. Through a physical exploration of uprising, revolt and resistance, the twelve performers take on shifting roles—whistleblowers, hackers, monsters—figures of rupture, upheaval and metamorphosis.

What unfolds is a journey beneath the surface of everyday gestures, power structures and dominant narratives. A radical experience, charged with dark and luminous energy—poised between chaos and poetry, violence and grace.
