Joeri Dubbe

Joeri Dubbe was born in the Netherlands and trained at the National Ballet School. He joined the Dutch National Ballet, then Nederlands Dans Theater 2. Support from Korzo Production then allowed him to focus on his own work as a freelance choreographer. He has also created performances for companies and schools such as Nederlands Dans Theatre, Scapino Ballet, OpenFLR, Codarts and Artez. His work has been presented at international events including Shanghai World Expo, Todays Art, Holland Dance Festival, Cadance, Scenario Pubblico, Tanz Heilbronn, Big5 Festival, and VERBA (Argentina). Joeri Dubbe has received many awards: Nederlandse Dansdagen Prize (2011); the prestigious BNG Prize for New Theatre Makers for his piece entitled Chrono (2012); the Scapino Prize for the duet Trigger-Happy (2014); First Prize for choreography at the 20th International Solo Tanz Theater Stuttgart (2016) for Enfant, a solo resulting from his research work carried out when working on Infant. After many years working only as a choreographer, he returned to the stage in 2014 with Kitsune, and in 2015 presented Infant. He is currently founding his own company, Joeri Dubbe Choreography.
