Groupe Crisis

The Crisis group is a young collective in Marseille that carries out artistic projects with actors and dancers.

Crisis produces shows that cast doubt on current ways of thinking about the artistic and political world. Through laboratories, travel, writing, research and study, its members bring it alive. Each of the group’s projects involves the intimate geopolitical and poeric relationship its members try to establish with the world. Its three artistic directors are Laurène Fardeau, Hayet Darwich and Nolwenn Peterschmitt.

Hayet Darwich graduated from ERAC in 2013, working with Hubert Colas, Gérard Watkins, Ludovic Lagarde, Catherine Germain, Thierry Raynaud, Guillaume Lévêque and Laurent Gutmann. In 2014, she played in The european crisis game, a European project in English on the economic crisis directed by Bruno Fressiney. In 2015 she took to the road with the Italian group Ricci Forte with JG matricule, a performance inspired by the life of Jean Genet in Italian and English. She rejoined Gérard Watkins to perform Scènes de violences conjugales which is still touring. She worked with François Cervantes and local residents on l’Épopée du Grand Nord, a piece on the Quartiers Nord in Marseille, and Face à Médée, an original rewriting of the myth of Medea. Next season she will be at the Théâtre de la Colline with Wajdi Mouawad.

Laurène Fardeau, 26, is a graduate of ERACM (École régionale d’acteurs de Cannes Marseille) where she worked with Hubert Colas, Gérard Watkins, Ludovic Lagarde, Catherine Germain, Thierry Raynaud, Guillaume Lévêque and Laurent Gutmann. When she graduated, she acted in productions by Muriel Vernet, Danielle Bré and Édith Amselem. She was director’s assistant for Gérard Watkins on Je ne me souviens plus très bien and for Marie Provence on Zoom. In parallel she trained in physical theatre with Yorgos Karamalegos in London. She is a founder member of the Crisis Group in Marseille.

Nolwenn Peterschmitt, 25, is a graduate of l’Académie — École nationale supérieure du Théâtre de l’Union in Limoges, directed by the late Anton Kouznetsov. She has worked with several directors including Jean Claude Fall, Vera Ermakova, Nicolas Bigards, Stéphanie Loïk and Martina Raccanelli. A founder member of the Zavtra collective, she performed in collective productions directed by Jean-Baptiste Tur, Julien Mabiala Bissila and DelaVallet Bidiefono. She also took part in a production by Serge Aimé Coulibaly in Mali, and has worked on several events with the Kubilai Khan Investigations dance company. She is a founder member of Groupe Crisis in Marseille.
