Human Rights Tattoo

Sander Van Bussel

exhibit

Launched in 2012 by Dutch artist Sander van Bussel, the aim of the Human Rights Tattoo project is to write the Declaration of Human Rights in 6,773 people around the world.

One letter per person. As we write these words, 4,695 letters have been tattooed on as many people, and the project continues! For its first visit to France, Human Rights Tattoo will be involving militant tattoo artists and communities in Marseille and exhibiting photos at the Mucem showing how much progress has been made. It’s also possible to lend them a centimetre of your own skin! Come get a tattoo !

The project is supported by HRT, Moving Marseille / Wetopia, Amnesty International, the Refuge Migrant.e.s LGBT+, l’Institut Calem and Pride 2022 for Festival Aoziz.
