Dance lies at the heart of their work, and (LA)HORDE develops choreographic pieces, films, performances and installations with groups on the margins of mainstream culture such as the seventy-year-olds of Void Island, the blind dancers of Night Owl, and more recently the “jumpers” of To Da Bone and the Georgian dancers of the Ballet Iveroni in Marry Me In Bassiani. Their exploration of new on-line dynamics relating to the circulation and representation of dance and the body has led them to develop the concept of “post-internet dance”.
Working with a variety of media, (LA)HORDE explores the almost endless serendipity of this new territory and looks at the spirit of revolt that drives the communities with which the collective works in a non-hierarchical way. Room With A View, featuring 22 dancers of 14 different nationalities, is their first show since they arrived at the CCN Ballet National de Marseille in September 2019.
