Le Chemin des Fous

Refuge Migrant·es LGBTQI+, Arthur Eskenazi, Liam Warren

exhibit performance

The result of a long-standing collaboration between Le Refuge Migrants LGBTQI+ and the Marseille-based artists Arthur Eskenazi and Liam Warren, Le Chemin des Fous is an exhibition that explores themes of identity, self-representation and intersectional struggles. Drawing inspiration from personal and collective narratives, it advocates for a poetics of bonding.

Presented at La Compagnie, an art centre in the Belsunce neighbourhood of Marseille, Le Chemin des Fous is an immersive exhibition that blends video installations, textile sculptures, alternative maps, reappropriated archive items, and texts. Every fragment and every story contributes to a fragmented narrative on the theme of "Migration, Identity, and Emancipation." Since 2020, weekly workshops have brought together members of the group to engage in multi-facetted projects combining dance and visual arts with the passions that drive them: anger, desire, love, social frustrations, living conditions, pressures. The works created for the exhibition were developed in these workshops, led by local artists including Elsa Ledoux, Raymond Dikoumé and Fabienne Guilbert Burgoa. This expansive installation, rooted in the urban landscapes of Marseille, forms a space where voices and gestures intertwine to tell stories of transformation and struggle.
