The Festival supports teachers involved in arts and cultural education
Following a workshop attended by 18 teachers last December, the Festival is offering two days of training on 13 and 14 April, as part of the National Education System’s Academic Training Plan.
Open to all teachers in the department, these days of discussion and practical work will be led this year by choreographer Sofiane Chalal. They aim to open up new pedagogical avenues and explore the role of dance in teaching.
Seventeen classes taking part in the Festival’s arts and cultural education programmes
From primary school to university, the Marseille Festival supports hundreds of young people every year in discovering dance and contemporary creation. Practical workshops, educational sessions, meetings with artists and the Festival team, and trips to see performances: this year’s school-based initiatives are aimed at 16 classes and 355 young people.
The workshops are led by Ana Pérez and Justine Verlaque, Mathilde Hannoun, Anne-Gaëlle Thiriot and Coralie Viudes, as well as Sofiane Chalal and Maëla Trollé. For the first time, some workshops are designed and led by artists with disabilities.
